Editor's note: If you're traveling to Rome during the Rome Jubilee (Dec 24, 2024–Jan 6, 2026), expect heavier traffic and restorations on major landmarks. Plan in advance to avoid disappointment, and note that there may be some last-minute disruption to tour inclusions.

The Colosseum has been a symbol of Rome since 80 AD, and today it’s a top monument in Italy. Some 50,000 spectators once gathered in the amphitheater’s tiered seats to watch gladiator games. Though parts of the original marble facade were pilfered over the years to build the likes of St. Peter's Basilica, the Colosseum remains remarkably intact 2,000 years later.

Amazing Tour!!
Very comprehensive tour of the Colosseum that tells you all about the history and takes you in to see the space from multiple points of view. There were multiple photo stops, but I would have enjoyed a photo stop outside of the Colosseum. Other than that, it was a really great tour. Highly recommend.

An Engaging and Informative Colosseum Tour with Giuliana
Giuliana was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide. We could tell she was passionate about the subject matter, and we (my husband, 14-year-old son, and 18-year-old daughter) loved hearing about the history of the Colosseum and Rome. Be prepared for a lot of walking -the tour covers so much ground! We would 100% recommend this tour.
